But when old enemies unexpectedly return, Cole will once again have to outsmart the forces of evil and survive the night. He is still hopelessly smitten with his best friend and next door neighbor Melanie – the only one who believes his story – who convinces him to forget the past and come to a party thrown at a nearby lake. Everyone in his life thinks he has lost his mind since Bee and all of her friends disappeared, making Cole’s story hard to believe. Two years after defeating a satanic cult led by his babysitter Bee, Cole continues to be haunted by the horrific events of that night. The one battle scene at the end has some super geek and video game vibes that I do not want to ruin - but it is probably my favorite scene in the whole movie.Ĭheck out my favorite The Babysitter: Killer Queen quotes. While the first one is far superior, this one is still worth a watch. There is a little bit of a twist toward the end, but I called most of it. Honestly, it is probably exactly what you expect it to be. It isn’t the best plot by any means, but it is a fun. It is predictable but not enough to take away from the story. There are some of the coolest, most grotesque deaths that make this movie totally worth watching. While this one doesn’t provide the latter, it sure does have the gore I was hoping for. Movies in this genre usually make you laugh, all while being filled with gore and maybe even some moments of suspense. TYLER GOLDEN/NETFLIX © 2020 Overall Thoughts THE BABYSITTER: KILLER QUEEN (L to R) ANDREW BACHELOR as JOHN, BELLA THORNE as ALLISON and ROBBIE AMELL as MAX in THE BABYSITTER: KILLER QUEEN. Although honestly, I would probably watch it if there was one. The ending of the movie is wrapped up nicely and I don’t expect a third one to happen. The new girl at his school is out at the lake too (you might recognize her from You), and she quickly became my favorite in this movie. What happens next is a lot of crazy horrific fun. This is all revealed in the trailer, but it picks up in the movie about thirty minutes in. He had some dealings with a blood cult in the last movie and is trying to move on. The plot is basically that Cole goes to the lake with some friends to get away from everything. There are a lot of characters that make an appearance from the first movie but again, they do a good job of explaining their roles if you didn’t see that one. I don’t know Judah Lewis from anything besides this series, but he was great, just as he was in the last one. Ken Marino provides all sorts of laughs, just as he always does. This movie is just about as fun as I expected it to be. TYLER GOLDEN/NETFLIX © 2020 Predictable But Really Fun The ending is both unexpected and very fitting As for the special effects – and there’s a ton of them, from gushing blood to car accidents – look amazing.THE BABYSITTER: KILLER QUEEN (L to R) JENNA ORTEGA as PHOEBE and JUDAH LEWIS as COLE in THE BABYSITTER: KILLER QUEEN. Just when you think you know what’s about to happen, McG switches it up on you. “This flick has more twists than a slinky. Assuming that Netflix greenlights The Babysitter 3 in 2020, production for a third installment will most likely take place in late 2021 or early 2022. In our third act we get two things that really allow Killer Queen to ascend to near original heights.” Ghastly Grinning Part of that is the missing Weaving and some of it can be chalked up to the convoluted story that throws twist upon twist for mostly pointless reasons. “ The Babysitter: KIller Queen amps up the laugh and the gore but it’s missing a lot of the heart that once been present. Dammit, McG, you got me again…” Flickering Myth If you can handle its fairly hammy comedic moments and unlikeable characters, then you’ll see the love it has for pop culture and the horror films that came before it. “Gleefully gruesome and deceivingly clever, the film offers a good time for fans of slashers. That said, this is going to make a lot of horror fans happy, much like the first one, but it lacks the heart that made The Babysitter stick out…” But Why Tho? Truthfully, The Babysitter: Killer Queen thrives somewhere in the second act and chases that excitement for the rest of the film to varying degrees effect. “The story itself is convoluted to the max and there are about two too many twists, but it’s still a fun ride. In terms of mindless entertainment, that is.” Bloody Disgusting There’s at least enough here to ensure you won’t be bored. “While there are a few triumphant surprises in store, this sequel tried to recreate its predecessor’s highlights while overstuffing it with pop culture references, high school tropes, and contrived shenanigans. Not in terms of plot or anything, you know how it’s going to end, you’ll just be pretty surprised at some of the pit stops they take in getting there.” Watching Movies ” …if you liked the first, you’ll likely be pleased with the second This movie takes a lot of weird turns, plays a lot of unexpected tunes, and really keeps you guessing.
